Duke Swaby, known by D.J. Duke born in Jamaica, raised in Canada had grown up with music all his life with influences of rock, soul, funk, house, gospel, reggae and soca, all which became infused with his own love for music.
He began collecting music at an early age traveling to New York collecting vinyl records with the likes of Studio One which was one of his early influences in reggae music.
When living in Alberta, Canada, Duke hosted a radio show on CKER 1480 AM station during this time black music was not being played on the airwaves. Duke took the opportunity to play reggae, soul, RnB and gospel music to a growing Caribbean population and the show became very popular.
Duke, over the years gained experience deejaying and emceeing events in Canada, US and Jamaica. He enjoys playing and hosting at church events, weddings, corporate events and special events and his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes.
After giving his life to the Lord, Duke began to seek the Lord for direction in his life and over the years and became inspired with gospel music of all genres. Working full time during the day, Duke is also an active member of his local community assisting with a non-profit organisation and is a soccer coach.
Currently, Duke plays weekly on Facebook and IG on his show called, Sounds of Gospel. He is grateful for the opportunity to expand his experience as a radio presenter for Gtracks Radio in the UK.
